In partnership with Atem as an integration channel, Superlatam delivered and implemented infrastructure based on state-of-the-art Supermicro servers for the University of Tarapacá . The project, led by Mauricio Arriagada —Director of Digital Management and Transparency—is now operational at one of the Arica campuses, strengthening computing capabilities and institutional services with scalable, efficient solutions ready for future growth, while incorporating the latest Nvidia technology to advance AI initiatives.

When the University of Tarapacá decided to make the leap to infrastructure ready for AI and high-performance workloads , it did so with a clear objective: to establish a modern technological foundation that would support its academic and administrative growth. With Atem acting as the integration channel and Superlatam as the technology partner, the project took shape in Arica under the leadership of Mauricio Arriagada , Director of Digital Management and Transparency. The premise was both simple and ambitious: up-to-date architecture, energy efficiency, and room to scale seamlessly.

The solution was built on state-of-the-art Supermicro technology , combining robust computing power with massive GPU acceleration. At the heart of the deployment is a server equipped with cutting-edge GPUs —a platform that not only strengthens critical institutional services but also opens the door to AI projects , ranging from model training and fine-tuning to advanced analytics and intelligent services for the university community. All of this is supported by remote management, high-availability policies, and rapid implementation, enabling UTA to start generating value from day one.

Collaboration was key. Atem ensured a meticulous on-site integration, while Superlatam carefully managed every technical decision to guarantee compatibility, support, and operational continuity. Coordination with local teams allowed the deployment to be tailored to the specific conditions of the Arica facility, optimizing energy use, cooling, and daily operations. The result: a clean, well-documented installation ready for growth—in terms of both computing capacity and AI use cases.

Today, UTA is already operating the platform at one of its campuses in Arica . The infrastructure supports current services while simultaneously enabling an innovation roadmap : data laboratories, applied research, and management support tools featuring faster, more precise models.
